This year’s Women’s History Month, we honor the resilience, strength, and dreams of the young mothers at Rafikistry who assemble Pamp’her period packs. Despite many of them having to leave school when they became pregnant or face numerous other challenges in their young lives, these inspiring ladies are shaping their futures with determination, learning valuable skills while supporting their families one pouch at a time. Their stories are about survival, hope, ambition, and the desire to redefine what women’s history might look like when all female members of society are empowered.
We had the opportunity to hear directly from the young mothers about their life aspirations, challenges faced, support systems, and work assembling Pamp’her products. Scroll down to learn more about the individuals behind each Pamp’her pack, and stay tuned as we continue to provide updates from this impactful partnership.
“My dream is to become a better person for myself and my child. I want to start my salon because I already have some skills. Assembling Pamp’her products has taught me teamwork, efficiency, and valuable skills like sealing. But life as a young mother is not easy; raising my child alone and managing my emotions is a daily battle. My biggest support is my sister; she is my rock, always cheering me on when I feel discouraged.”

“I dream of starting my own business, becoming self-employed, and building a successful future. Assembling Pamp’her products has been an eye-opening experience; it has taught me the power of teamwork and that excellence is the standard we should always strive for. But the journey isn’t easy. Handling life’s responsibilities at a young age, managing my emotions, and learning to rely on myself have been my biggest challenges. Through it all, my mother remains my guide, correcting me, teaching me, and helping me become a better parent.”

“One day, I will start my own business and create jobs for others. Assembling Pamp’her products has given me a new perspective. I’ve realized how much period pouches can help people. And, honestly, I’ve become a pro at packing! But being a single mother comes with its struggles; there is little to no help, and finding a job is tough. My biggest support is my mother; she has held me up through it all.”

“With Rafikistry’s help, I dream of going back to school, becoming a top chef, and opening my own restaurant. Assembling Pamp’her products has given me a job, and the salary helps me take care of small needs. But life at home is hard; we are ten in our family, and my mother, who doesn’t have a stable job, is the only one supporting us. She is my biggest inspiration despite everything; she never gave up on us, never turned us away, and loves us all equally.”

“My dream is to be successful and independent, giving my child the best life possible. Through assembling Pamp’her products, I have gained skills and even discovered that packaging can be a business opportunity. It has also motivated me to start a small soap-selling business. But being a mother means my child is my priority now—every thought and decision revolves around ensuring my child is okay. Figuring it all out on my own has been tough, but my mother is my greatest cheerleader, always lifting me when I feel stuck.”

“My biggest dream is to raise my children well and give them the best education. Assembling Pamp’her products has provided me with a job, and the salary helps, even if just a little. But the struggles are real sometimes, I can’t even afford diapers. And when I do find a hustle, I worry about leaving my child in safe hands. Paying for daycare when money is already tight is an uphill battle. Through it all, my mother has been my rock right now, she is not just my support, she is my only friend.”

“One day, I will open my own boutique and beauty shop, build my house, and give my children the best education. Assembling Pamp’her products has not only given me skills but also sparked ideas in my mind recently; it even led me to a side hustle with a juice packaging company. But the struggle is real. Some days, getting diapers or even food for my home is tough. Through it all, my biggest support is my mother, who takes care of my child whenever I need to work or attend sessions at Rafikistry. And my child’s father, in his way, provides where he is supposed to”

“One Day, I will become the best chef. Assembling Pamp’her products has given me skills, especially in organization, but the struggle is real. Money is always tight. I want to save up and start a boiled egg business, but the needs never seem to end. Right now, I rely on my mother for so much. She is my biggest support, providing for me and giving my child a roof over our heads. I dream of the day I can stand on my own and give my child a better life.”
